BOOK YOUR TUNE-UP ONLINE NOW! 1 WEEK OR LESS TURNAROUND
I've been on a quest to find cycle-related books to inspire me and share with others. And have I found some great ones!
Every other month I will try to highlight a different book. Each book has been sourced locally or online and may be purchased from major retailers/book stores.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
What could it be????
Reviews & Photography by Dan Roitner
"Discover new cycling destinations in Southern Ontario, Canada. Included are city Park and rural forest paths, plus Rail Trails. Most routes are flat, easy terrain, for safe, car-free cycling that all ages can enjoy. "
"After many years of riding and scouting trails, Dan Roitner has compiled extensive information, useful maps and photos for this guide. Start planning your next great ride today!"
"*A new 2021 update has replaced the maps with more detailed ones and added trail start and endpoints plus parking locations to aid cyclists. Anyone with an older book can go to the download page mentioned in the book for a free update page they can print out as a book insert."
This is a nice trail book (published in 2019). Like his other book, it's not intended to be all encompassing so keep that in mind, but it's a great reference. Hopefully it'll entice you (again!) to consider cycling on other trails across Southern Ontario! Time for me to print out the 2021 updated book insert!

Story and Pictures by Taj Mihelich (Former BMX World Champion)
"Bernie is one of the top bike builders in the world. His bikes are so fast and so beautifully made that bike racers and wealthy bike collectors alike buy up every bike he can make. It is sad to him that the bikes he builds all end up being sent far away and that none of his close friends seem interested in them. After a talk with his friend Monty the Corgi, Bernie learns that his friends (who are not bike racers) think they can't fit on his high-performance-built-for-speed bikes. Bernie sees this as a design challenge and sets to work building bikes his friends can ride."
This is just cute and GREAT for kids! Ok, ok, I REALLY liked it too. Animals of all shapes and sizes riding bikes ... it doesn't get much better than that in showing that anyone can ride!

"For every way to ride, there's a bicycle to fit the need. An homage to the beauty of the bike, Cyclepedia showcases the innovations and legacies of bicycle design over the past century. Join longtime bike enthusiast and avid collector Michael Embacher for a tour of 100 bicycles, from the finest racing bikes and high-tech hybrids to the bizarrely specific (such as a bike designed to cycle on ice). "
"Captivating photographs, detailed component lists, and anecdotal information illuminate the details that make each bicycle unique. Also including a foreword by cyclist and designer Paul Smith, Cyclepedia is the ultimate coffee-table book for devotees of the two-wheeled life.
Ok, so another book on cool bikes but this one covers some designs you have never seen before.
NOTE: This book is the 2011 edition. There is a 2019 edition by the author titled "Cyclepedia: 90 Years of Modern Bicycle Design."
